TAPE•C Colour Module Settings
The TAPE•C Colour Module is a mono device that captures the essence of classic tape machines and magnetic tape. It’s not modeled on any one particular tape machine, but embodies the mojo of our favorite decks from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. It functions as a single channel processor that can be installed in any Colour-compatible host like Chroma, Chroma+, Mister Focus, Silver Bullet mk2, or products from DIY Recording Equipment. This Colour Module design is derived from our TAPE•79 Mojo Module for the Silver Bullet mk2.
There is a bank of switches on the board that allow you to customize how the module will affect your audio. Set a switch towards the “ON” label to enable that particular setting. If the switches are toggled towards the numbers on the side of the dipswitch housing, then those settings will be off or disabled.
Configuration
- 1 – LF HEAD BUMP: Low frequency head bump characteristic of 15 ips tape. Default = ON
- 2 – HF FLAT: Enabling this setting defeats the high frequency peaking response of our virtual tape deck’s Repro EQ circuit. Setting this to ON will give a flatter high frequency response. Default = OFF
